Our story
Built by students, for students.
We were students too โ hunting for a used calculator the night before an exam, selling textbooks at the end of the semester, trying to find somewhere to rent a lab coat for one week. We kept running into the same problem: no marketplace actually understood campus life.
So we built one.
Our mission
CampusSouq exists to make student life a little easier and a little cheaper. Every item on this platform is listed by a verified student at a Qatar university. Every exchange happens at a safe, named campus location. There are no anonymous sellers, no mystery meetups, and no hidden fees for buyers.
We believe that the best people to help students are other students โ and that trust is built through transparency, real identities, and shared spaces.
Students only
Every account is verified with a university email and student ID. You know exactly who you're dealing with before you send a single message.
Campus-safe exchanges
All meetups happen at named, public campus locations โ libraries, student centres, food courts. No off-campus meetups, no home addresses.
Fair for everyone
Sellers pay a small fee to publish an ad. Buyers pay nothing to the platform. No commission is taken when a deal is done โ what you agree is what you pay.
Community first
Urgent requests, rental listings, seller ratings, and dispute resolution are all designed around the reality of student schedules and budgets.
Who we serve
CampusSouq currently supports students, staff, and verified members of universities across Qatar โ including UDST, Qatar University, Education City institutions (CMU-Q, Georgetown, Northwestern, Texas A&M, VCUarts Qatar, Weill Cornell, HBKU), and several others. New institutions can be added by platform admins as the community grows.
How it started
The first version of CampusSouq was a simple listing page for UDST students. It grew because the need was real: a textbook listed on Monday was sold by Wednesday. Word spread. More universities joined. Features were added based on what students actually asked for โ urgent posts, rental listings, verified seller badges, campus-specific meeting points, real-time chat.
Everything you see was built to solve a real problem that a real student had.
Our commitments to you
We take privacy, safety, and fairness seriously. Before you use the platform, we encourage you to read the documents that govern how it works. They are written to be readable, not just legally complete.
